Tiger Cubs - 1st Grade Boys
Tiger Cubs are Cub Scouts who are in the first grade. These boys learn new things
together and have fun experiences with their friends. As a Tiger Cub, you will earn your Bobcat and Tiger Cub
Badge. You will enjoy five achievement areas and, with your adult partner's help, you will complete 15
requirements. Along the way, you'll have great fun. Tiger Cubs do lots of things together. You may go
fishing. You might visit a museum. You could tour a fire station. You might go to a movie or take a
ride on a train. You can play sports and build things. It's up to you and your leaders to decide exactly what
you'll do. Whatever you do, you'll learn new things, see new places, and soon become a Cub Scout.
Wolf & Bear Cub Scouts - 2nd & 3rd Grade Boys
Being a Cub Scout means doing. You join a den - a group of friends who share your
interests - and together you explore many exciting things. You may be building Pinewood Derby race cars or
exploring a cave. You could be camping in a forest with your friends and family or playing baseball or soccer.
You might have a picnic or you could go fishing. You might be playing games or building a tree house. The
list of things Cub Scouts do is huge! You'll work with adult leaders who will help you earn awards. You can
get a Cub Scout uniform to display the badges and recognitions you'll earn. Plus, all the while, you're having
great fun.
Webelos - 4th & 5th Grade Boys
Webelos are the Cub Scout members who are preparing to step up to the adventure and
excitement of belonging to the Boy Scouts. While you still get to do all the things Cub Scouts do, as a Webelos,
you'll enjoy more special activities - including challenging outdoor adventures. You'll be looked upon as a leader.
You'll get to work on advanced projects, earn activity badges, and become familiar with the Boy Scout requirements - all
leading to the Cub Scouts' highest rank, the prized Arrow of Light Award.

Uniforms September 2008: NEW UNIFORM STYLES WERE
INTRODUCED!!!
If they wish, scouts
can wear their uniform proudly to school on days
when there are meetings.
BSA has changed the style of the shirts and pants on all of the uniforms. You can still
wear the old style or you can purchase the new style from the Toms River Scout Store at 732-473-1796 or online at
www.scoutstuff.org.
We run the Pack with a
scout-friendly casual attitude. We don't do uniform
inspections or count attendance and although we'd
like your scout to participate in all events we know
how busy all kids/families are. If your scout can
only make Den meetings or only the monthly events -
it doesn't matter - everyone is welcome.
This is what you need:
- Blue Short Sleeve
Shirt (Webelos 1 can still wear blue shirts until they earn the Webelos badge (by Dec 2008). Then they will need
the tan shirts.
- Wolf Cub
Neckerchief and Slide
- World Scout Crest
Emblem
- Cub Scout belt
- Jersey Shore
Council Badge for the sleeve
- Pack Numbers 1 and
8 for 18
- Optional -
baseball cap, socks, pants. They sell Badge
Magic that allows you to iron on the badges
rather than sewing them on.
You can refer to
the virtual uniform & insignia handbook,
the Cub Scout and Webelos
Scout uniform inspection sheet (pdf
87KB), or store guidance in where to sew the
numbers, etc. Remember you received the Bobcat and
Tiger Cub Badges (in the Spring) that need to go on
the shirt as well. They are very helpful at the
store....just ask them. They wear this shirt until
they become a Webelos/4th grade so size accordingly.
For those who are not
sure how to get to the Scout Store here's a
map
(150 kb jpg).
The Pack has funds for
any family who can not meet the financial
obligations of Scouting (uniform and/or dues).
Please see Karen.
The Pack supplies their handbooks. See your Den Leader if you did not receive one.

Friendship District Roundtable
Dear Scouting Team,
Thank you all for offering to help out by
attending our monthly 7PM Council Meetings at the Methodist Church in
Manahawkin. Attached is the list of volunteers and the dates they have
agreed to attend. If for some reason you can not attend, please find a
replacement and pass along these instructions.
The objective is to simply attend and
represent our Pack. That means to be our eyes and ears about what is
going on in the Council. Be on the lookout for upcoming activities and
opportunities for us to do things. After the meeting kindly collect any
important handouts. Please send Karen an email with key notes from the
meeting and bring the handouts to our next meeting to share with the
leaders.
Directions: United Methodist Church 116
Strafford Avenue, Manahawkin 597-7666. Take 72 West to Rt. 9 – Go North
(right) thru 1st intersection (old bay ave) and proceed straight on Rt.
9. It’s the next right (Stafford). Church is on your left across from
the Firehouse about .25 mile down the road.
The schedule for the
Friendship
District Roundtable.
